"Rabbi, did not a great man say and I quote, "the Jews are a swinging bunch of people. I mean I've heard of persecution, but what they went through is ridiculous! But the great thing is after thousands of years of waiting and holding on and fighting they finally made it." End quote."
Bart

Sammy Davis, Jr. was an American entertainer and member of the "Rat Pack."

History[edit]

Bart and Lisa were trying to convince Krusty's father Rabbi Hyman Krustofsky to end their estrangement. After several failed attempts, he finally broke up and agreed when he was shocked to learn the quote which had so move him was from Sammy Davis, Jr.'s memoir "Yes I Can," an entertainer whohad converted to Judaism. Rabbi Krustofsky called him "The Candy Man" as the song "The Candy Man" was Davis' biggest hit.[1]

In the montage of famous kissing scenes (seen when Nikki performed CPR on Bart), there was a scene from the "Sammy's Visit" episode of "All in the Family" where Sammy Davis, Jr. gave an unexpecting Archie Bunker a kiss.[2]

During the song "Sasha is a Massive Success", a picture of Sammy Davis, Jr. was seen on the wall.[3]

A picture of Sammy Davis, Jr. in his dressing room writing a to-do list was seen.[4]
