Edgar Allan Poe was an American author, poet, editor and literary critic.

History[edit]

When Dr. Nick demonstrated Spiffy he used it on the tombstone of "author and troubled soul" Edgar Allen Poe.[1]

Lisa keeps a collection of poems by Edgar Allan Poe on a bookshelf, next to of Allen Ginsberg's work, Jack Kerouac's novel On the Road, and Victor Hugo's novel Les Miserables.[2]

Allison Taylor's entry in the school's diorama completion was for Poe's short story The Telltale Heart, but she and Lisa both lost to Ralph's entry of Star Wars action figures.[3]

Moe called the Baltimore Ravens "crab-infested Edgar Allan Poe-munchers."[4] The team name came from Poe's poem The Raven.[5]
