The "Just stamp the ticket" man is a man who frequently appears to make sarcastic or angry remarks.
History[edit]
The man went to the Leftorium to get his parking validated because it was the only store that did it without requiring a purchase. Ned Flanders said he was "right as rain, or, as we say around here, 'left as rain,'" but the man bluntly responded, "Just stamp the ticket."[1] When the Squeaky-Voiced Teen tried to hand him a flyer, he brushed him off by saying, "Don't touch me."[2] He later told Barney Gumble (who was handing out flyers dressed as a big baby) that he "sickens" him.[3] At the Springfield Swap Meet, he derided Marge's "cool" wishbone necklaces, stating he doubted his "son or daughter is that stupid."[4] He informed Homer he could have used the money he lost from not working to buy tickets to the Pigskin Classic football game from a scalper, rather than camping out for eight days to get to the front of the line.[5] The man tried to buy $2 worth of gas from the Kwik-E-Mart but was disgusted by Apu's overcharging.[6] He later punched a hippie singing "Sunshine on My Shoulders" during Springfield's heatwave,[7] and punched Homer in Springfield Mall when he approached to suggest he looked "like a man who needs help satisfying his wife."[8]
He later worked as a Naval Recruiter. When Homer signed up for the Naval Reserve, he panicked as Homer tried to answer the crossed-out question "Are you a homosexual?", fearing he could go to jail.[9]
When Lady Gaga made a flash mob hold up their MyPhones to form a light making "I ♥ Lisa," the correction guy was in it. Lisa was not happy with this, and Gaga then tweeted "disperse," hoping the mob would disperse. When instead they rearranged themselves so the lights from their MyPhones formed "DISPERSE," the correction guy remarked that she meant that the mob should disperse.[10]
Behind the Laughter[edit]
- He has been dubbed "Just Stamp the Ticket" Guy after his line in "When Flanders Failed". Josh Weinstein calls him the "Just Stamp The Ticket Man" in his and Bill Oakley's Q&A with NoHomers.net.[11]
- It is possible that the appearance in "Simpson Tide" is not the same character. The character looks just like him, but does not sound the same, even though he is still voiced by Hank Azaria.
