Sean Astin is on Lisa's list of cutest vegetarians on her, Marge and Bart's food blog.[1]

Sean Astin was the lead in the based-on-true story sports movie Rudy which Milhouse often compared himself to.[2][3]

Behind the Laughter[edit]

The "Samwise" nickname is a reference to his role as Samwise Gamgee in The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Sean Astin's lead role in Rudy was parodied twice in football-themed episodes with Rudy from "Bart Star" and Rudy from "Sunday, Cruddy Sunday".
