Diego Rivera was a Mexican painter.
History[edit]
Diego Rivera got married to Frida Kahlo at Casa Azul in Mexico City, Mexico. After they got married, the couple moved to New York City where Diego took on an art project for John D. Rockefeller Jr. at the Rockefeller Center. Frida was annoyed at her husband as she hated capitalism and thought that Diego was selling out, which Diego refuted. Frida then started painting her feelings, which concerned Diego as he could tell they were all negative. After seeing her work, Diego told Frida that he underestimated her and she was a genius. Diego then went on to say that he would show his awe to her by sleeping with other women, starting an hour ago. Frida then responded that she would also sleep with other women, starting two hours ago. Diego then told Frida that he would do what she wants for the first time in their marriage.
Diego then finished his mural inside the Rockefeller Center and it got unveiled by John Rockefeller. Rockefeller was horrified to find a picture of Vladimir Lenin, a communist, within the painting and demanded that Diego paint over it. Diego refused, since it would have made Frida unhappy. Rockefeller then tried to release the hounds on Diego and Frida and the couple left the building together.
