Sammy Davis, Jr. was an American entertainment and member of the "Rat Pack."
History
Bart and Lisa are trying to convince Krusty's father Rabbi Hyman Krustofsky to end their estrangement. After several failed attempts, he finally broke up and agreed after he was shocked how moved he was by Bart quoting from Sammy Davis, Jr.'s memoir "Yes I Can" who was also an entertainer just like Krusty and had converted to Judaism. Rabbi Krustofsky called him "The Candy Man" as Davis' biggest hit was the song "The Candy Man."[1]
In the montage of famous kissing scenes (seen when Nikki performed CPR on Bart), there was a scene from the "Sammy's Visit" episode of "All in the Family" where Sammy Davis, Jr. gave an unexpecting Archie Bunker a kiss.[2]
During the song "Sasha is a Massive Success", a picture of Sammy Davis, Jr. was seen on the wall.[3]
A picture of Sammy Davis, Jr. in his dressing room writing a to-do list was seen.[4]
