Blackbeard was among Flanders the Devil's hand-picked Jury of the Damned. He was forced to sit in Maggie's high chair as they had run out of other seats. When Marge presented a photo of her and Homer's wedding as evidence, Blackbeard attempted to decipher what was on the back of the photo, thinking it was a treasure map. Benedict Arnold called him an idiot because he couldn't read before taking the photo from him.[3]
