Daniel Robert "Danny" Elfman (born May 29, 1953) is an American film composer, singer, and songwriter. He composed the theme song for the show which has been used in every single episode.

Recordings

His main and continued connection to the show has been his work on the main title, of which he originally recorded back in 1989, as well as a few unspecific cues for the shows library, which were sparingly used in the first two seasons. He also returned to the show to rerecord and rearranged the song for the updated opening for season 2. Since then, he has not worked on another Simpsons recording session, with his new version of the main title being replaced with a new orchestration by Alf Clausen, which is the current recording of the tune.[1]
