Synopsis[edit]
- Comic Book Guy gets humiliated at Comicalooza when he loses the question he plans to ask at a panel. Bart becomes a voice actor for the show Cookie Castle, but when it turns out he's voicing a female character, he gets bullied. Meanwhile, Lisa loses out on first chair in the school band to a new student, Blake.
Plot[edit]
At his shop, Comic Book Guy searches for a way to buy tickets to San Diego's Comicalooza when Agnes arrives with a cart full of Skinner's toys, including a high-priced Radioactive Man toy, which he sells for $3,400 on MeBay. The next day, Skinner comes to reclaim it, but it is too late.
At Springfield Elementary, Lisa meets a new kid, Blake, who also plays the saxophone. Dewey Largo announces that the session will decide whether Lisa keeps or loses her role in the band. At the store, Bart meets a voice-over artist, Phil Muhlstock, and admits he does them too, then stays at the shop for a long time.
Comic Book Guy boards a plane full of cosplayers to Comicalooza, writes question cards, and lands in San Diego. At the convention, he meets Paul Rudd. After roaming the convention for a while, he finds the perfect question to ask at the panel.
At school, Lisa slowly falls in love with Blake, but after an exchange at lunch involving Milhouse, Blake reveals that his blue eyes are just contact lenses to hide his red, evil-looking eyes. Comic Book Guy reaches the panel but has lost his question card and misses the chance to work at Marvel.
At school, Blake secures first chair after tricking Lisa. Simultaneously, Bart is at Mike Pop's Recording Studio. After imitating Phil's winning try, Bart lands a part in Cookie Castle too, but at home, he discovers he plays the role of a girl and gets picked on by bullies for it.
Comic Book Guy, Lisa, and Bart all get their dreams crushed—Bart is bullied at school the next day despite Lisa's comforting words, while Comic Book Guy returns to his shop, where Ralph restores his confidence.
At the same time, Milhouse calls Bart to turn on the TV to see his show, where he has become a queen who kills other characters with her unicorn, sending his popularity through the roof. At the Springfield Mall, Lisa wins over the crowd with her jazz performance, earning a free pretzel that she saves until she grows older. In the end, they are all happy and achieve something.
