He previously served as an animator, producer, storyboard artist, main title designer, executive consultant and supervising director.

He was also interviewed in The Simpsons: Access All Areas and The Simpsons 20th Anniversary Special – In 3-D! On Ice!. He voiced himself in the season 26 episode "Blazed and Confused" and the season 31 episode "Warrin' Priests: Part Two". Silverman also wrote the season 29 episode "Lisa Gets the Blues" and co-wrote the special Playdate with Destiny. He also served as the writer and artist for the Radioactive Man story Let's Draw...
