"Scary Stories" is the eighteenth short. It aired on The Tracey Ullman Show on December 20, 1987.
Bart asks Lisa and Maggie if they want to hear a scary story. He then switches off the light and starts telling a story about an evil, insane maniac, but Lisa asks why he could not tell it with the lights on. Bart agrees, but is unable to find the light switch and says that it is gone. Lisa then turns on the light.
Bart then tells a story about a psychopathic stranger on the loose in a dark house, who is not seen, but whose breathing is heard. Bart imitates Darth Vader's breathing, but Lisa screams and runs to turn the lights on again, revealing Maggie choking Bart with a sleeper hold.
Bart then tells another story about a vampire sucking blood from the neck of his latest victim. Maggie sucks on her pacifier, causing Bart and Lisa to gasp, cling to each other, and shake. Maggie then turns on the lights again.
Bart then switches the light off again and tells the scariest story of all, about three little children sitting and shivering in the dark, which frightens Lisa and Maggie. Footsteps are then heard, followed by the door opening. Homer and Marge have just entered and see their children hiding behind the couch and screaming.
