When Abraham was a young boy, Orville, Yuma, and their sons emigrated to America and moved into the Statue of Liberty. For a few years, they lived there, but they were forced to move out when they filled the head with too much garbage. Afterward, they moved to Springfield.[2] At some point, Orville opened Professor Simpson's Universal Panacea for Disagreeable Juveniles school. There, he showed dozens of men how to punish their boys by strangling Abe as an example. However, despite this, his father didn't approve and strangled him.[3] Orville and Yuma eventually grew old and passed away, though Homer once implied that his grandfather was still alive and Abe not only didn't visit him, but didn't even acknowledge his existence.[4]
Orville was seen in Heaven by Bart after getting hit by a car, strangling young Homer, hinting the habit is a family trait.[5] He was present in Grampa's story when Grampa told the family of his arrival in the U.S.[2] He was the only son of "Old Tut" Simpson and "Happy" Simpson.[6]
