Abigail Van Houten is the ex-wife of Jebediah Springfield and a member of the Van Houten family.

History[edit]

In 1845, Jebediah Springfield divorced Abigail Van Houten. Historians believed that the breakup was because she thought he was the founder of Springfield, Illinois, although official court documents listed the cause as "his smell."
