An imaginary Bleeding Gums Murphy told Lisa that he would always be there for her, like Morgan Freeman in Driving Miss Daisy.[1]

Kang and Kodos hosted a television special where all the celebrity guests were killed and their bodies placed to spell out the episode title, "TREEHOUSE OF HORROR XXV". Morgan Freeman was the second "O" in "HORROR", with his partially dismembered body forming one half of the letter and his severed arm and leg forming the other half.[2]
