Character Information
|
Ugolín is one of two hostile French wine makers who force Bart to be their slave. His uncle is Cesar.
History[edit]
The two were the owners and only employees (aside from Maurice the Donkey) of the Chateau Maison wine orchard. They used the foreign exchange student program to get Bart from the U.S. and made him work for them as their slave, replacing their donkey. They were very mean and gave Bart very little food, forced him to sleep on the ground, and made him taste the Antifreeze-filled wine.
They hadn't waited long enough for their wine to ferment, so César decided to add Antifreeze for flavor. Ugolín expressed concern that the Antifreeze might kill someone. They had Bart taste-test it (making sure he hadn't gone blind after drinking it), then sent him out to get more Antifreeze. This proved to be their undoing: Once Bart realized he had subliminally learned fluent French, he told a passing police officer everything, and César and Ugolín were arrested. It is assumed they went to a French prison.[1]
Later, they were seen watching TV in an apartment.[2] César and Ugolín were seen as two of the robbers when Mr. Burns closed the nuclear plant.[3]
César eventually became a hostile leather maker who tried to kill the blue snake that Homer was supposed to give them as payment for a trip to France. He tried to forcefully get it back but ultimately failed.[4]
César and Ugolín were investigating a theory together about false champagnes of the world.[5]
César and Ugolín apparently went to Springfield at one point, where they were arrested and incarcerated in Alca-Shiraz Wine Jail while trying to recreate a 1974 San Quentin in the toilet.[6]
Non-canon[edit]

They are seen as two of the surrendering French men in The Simpsons Game level, "Medal of Homer". In the ending, it is implied that Ugolín was the mayor of the village.
His picture was seen when Lisa looked through her Ultranet Facebook friend requests.[7]
