Kitenge is a former tour guide and the current president of Tanzania.

History[edit]

He was the Simpson family's tour guide during their safari trip that they won of a box of animal crackers. When the Simpsons landed in Tanzania, they met Kitenge at the airport, who had a bush baby on his shoulder. Realizing this, he scared the bush baby off. He then drove the Simpsons past several billboards for President Muntu. When asked who Muntu was, Kitenge said that he was their leader and he seized power in a bloodless coup, all deaths were smotherings.

Kitenge then took the Simpsons to their hotel for the night, which was a treehouse. He helped Bart with his mosquito net then left the family to sleep. Marge asked Homer if he had tipped Kitenge, but Kitenge told her that Homer had not. The next day, Kitenge took the Simpsons to the Ngorongoro wildlife preserve and told them to sit back and watch nature. He showed the family animals and then sung a bit with Homer. Kitenge then noticed poachers trying to steal a cheetah and scared them off with his gun.

Kitenge then took the Simpsons to the Olduvai Gorge archaeological site. He showed Homer the oldest known fossil of a human, which was 2 million years old. Homer, however, was unimpressed by this as the skeleton had less bones than him. Kitenge then took the family to a Masai Village where they joined the village in drinking, singing and dancing. When Homer accidentally angered a hippopotamus, Kitenge jumped on the hippo and told the Simpsons to escape, getting injured in the process. The Simpsons then managed to flee down the river, not knowing what happened to Kitenge.

Kitenge managed to survive the hippo fight because later, the Simpsons saw a billboard showing that Kitenge had managed to become president, with Muntu now a flight attendant.[1]
