Homer said that his Angry Dad voice was partially inspired by Walter Matthau.[1]

When Ned ended working as Springfield Isotots he told the player at they can call him Walter Matthau because he is a Bad News Bearer.[2]

The Albert Einstein Exhibit exhibit at the Springfield Metropolitan Museum included the DVD case for I.Q., a romantic-comedy where Walter Matthau played Albert Einstein.[3]
