The Pope is the Bishop of Rome, the leader of Catholic Church and ruler of Vatican City.

History

The Pope was present at the unveiling of The Homer.

Chief Wiggum mentioned that Homer thought he was the Pope of Chilitown.

An aide informed the Pope that an angel had foretold the apocalypse in USA. While reading La Stampa, the Pope instructed him to keep an eye on it.

Moe suggested his customers take a pickled egg to determine who would stay sober and be the designated driver, comparing it to how they picked the Pope.

Kent Brockman reported on a fake Pope who could be identified by his high-top sneakers and incredibly foul mouth.

At the Mayo Clinic, a doctor told the Pope he just needed to lay off the chili to feel better. Fidel Castro overheard this and laughed, prompting the Pope to tell him to stop and remind him that they had been in the car together.

After Homer received another trophy from Duncan for winning a race, he claimed to have more trophies than Wayne Gretzky and the Pope combined.

Pat O'Brien reported in Access Springfield that Burt Reynolds had apologized to the Pope and promised to replace the windshield.

When Marge cheated in a baking contest, she remarked that even the Pope couldn't forgive her pizza, and he was being very lenient these days.

Rev. Lovejoy referred to the Parson as the Pope of "this thing."

Lady Gaga mentioned she wanted to wear the dress she had worn when meeting the Pope during her visit to Springfield.

Homer's bedtime story to Maggie was about a family vacation with the Flanderses to the Grand Canyon two years earlier. At the bottom of the canyon, the Flanderses visited Iglesia del Gran Cañón. Upon exiting, Ned remarked, "A little Popish for my taste, but I did come here for adventure."
