History

After Maude died Homer asked Ned why should Maude not be dating in Heaven, as the place is full of eligible bachelors, like John Wayne, Tupac Shakur, and Sherlock Holmes. Ned chuckled and told Homer that Sherlock Holmes is a character. Homer, misinterpreting this, said he sure is and made an erotic growl.[1]

After Homer was sent to Hell Satan started to give him noogies and then asked him to stop yelling because he'll wake up John Wayne, who it turns out had already gotten up.[2]

When Homer Simpson was killing celebrities, Wayne was in Celebrity Heaven disgusted with the fact his, and other celebrities, identities were being used in advertising.[3]
