Jimmy Stewart was an American actor who gained fame for his everyman screen persona in the roles of Jefferson Smith and George Bailey in Frank Capra's movies Mr. Smith Goes to Washington and It's a Wonderful Life as well as Alfred Hitchcock's suspend thrillers The Man Who Knew Too Much, Rear Window and Vertigo.

History

When Homer Simpson helped Mel Gibson with Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, he said that filibuster scene is the biggest problem of all. After Mel Gibson told him that was Jimmy Stewart's favorite, Homer said it was fine for the 1930s, as the country was doing great back then and everyone was into talking. But now, in whatever year this is, the audience wants action and seats with beverage holders, but mainly action. After the premiere, Jimmy Stewart's granddaughter came and slapped them, and threatened to sue them for the bad film.[1]

He played the voice of Mr. Mailman in The Year Santa Got Lost. Homer was watching the show but switched the channel as he thought Jimmy Stewart as a puppet was so wrong.[2]
