History[edit]
The wealthy founder and CEO of the Motherloving Sweets and Sugar Company, Garth Motherloving was responsible for adding sugar to every single foodstuff in Springfield. After becoming worried about the high obesity rate of the town, Marge decided to confront Garth and try to convince him to use less sugar in his products, or at least put warnings on the packaging. Garth would not comply, however, sarcastically stating that "That'll boost sales!" and while he's at it he should change his name back to Hitler. He then booted Marge out of his office, so she decided to sue the sugar industry.
In court Garth threatened to kill everyone in the court room. He then attempted to bribe Judge Snyder with a briefcase full of candy, but the Judge refused the bribe because it's "Hershey highwaymen," like Garth, who make him fat. The Judge sided with Marge and banned all sugar products in Springfield (angering Homer and most of the town). Homer then joined a secret group led by Motherloving to smuggle sugar from the island of San Glucos. After arriving back in Springfield, and evading a police boat, Homer brought the sugar to the docks where Garth Motherloving was waiting. However, after some convincing by Marge, Homer dumped the cargo into the ocean, and Garth Motherloving left in defeat.
Judge Snyder then lifted the ban, and it can be assumed that the Motherloving Sugar company re-opened.[1]
Garth Motherloving attended the launch event for The Drederick. When it came out Marge hadn't tried marijuana, Homer equated it to a doctor not trying insulin. He then said that the doctor was a woman and said it was sexist. Garth Motherloving agreed with Homer.[2]
