Destination Springfield is the one hundred and forty-third content update for The Simpsons: Tapped Out. It started on January 31, 2017 and ended on March 7, 2017.

The Destination Springfield content update also included the Football 2017 update, which started on February 2, 2017 and ended on February 6, 2017, and the Valentine's 2017 update, which started on February 8, 2017 and ended on February 15, 2017.

Into dialogue[edit]

After tapping on Norbert's exclamation mark Upon starting a new day in Norbert's Adventure Tasks, Norbert starts a quick random dialogue
	Another day, another transcontinental flight in a seat next to the bathroom.

	Another day!
	Arrr! More plundering the world's precious ancient artifacts.
	We prefer to call it “confrontational antiquing.”

	Fly to enough places, and we'll eventually find the clues we need.

	Hopefully today's treasures are in countries where they have Krusty Burgers.

	Let's see what perilous tasks we have available today.

Osaka Flu[edit]

Visiting friend towns, the user can get the Osaka Flu, it'll spread on the user town, with tourists getting infected (this gives the user more Pins when being tapped). The moment the user gets the flu is random and seems to not be affected by any particular action. The user'll receive a message once it starts. To get more points to level up, the user needs to tap on buildings that have the nation pin on them (being the ones friends have tapped). Tapping on other people's buildings help spreading the flu, and gives the user 5 Pins each. Tapping on buildings gives the user 1. If a new level is achieved, another flu cloud will go to the user tourist (with another indicator on the bottom activating). Tapping the indicator on the screen will take the user to either the cloud (if the icon is normal) or the ill tourist (if it's glowing). After a while another visitor will be infected. It's currently unknown what reaching max level and 100% spread will do. Tapping on a infected tourist will give the user 14 Pins and 10 till you reach Level 5. Then they pay the regular 4 Pins and 4. The table below shows how many building needs to be tapped, the number doesn't reset, that's the total number the user need to reach. Once the user reaches max level, a message will appear saying "The Osaka Flu has been fully upgraded." The infection has currently surpassed 100% and it didn't trigger anything.

A new ambience music for town and friend towns was added.
Daily Challenges were added for the event.
The landing zone was moved to Springfield Airport.
A glitch that makes the edit locator unable to be centered around the bottom edge of town was introduced.
Soilant Red Factory's skin select images were fixed.
A new row and 2 new columns of land, and 1 new column of water were added. A way to get land tokens to unlock a square for free was added in the event.
Platinum Scratch-Rs were offered again from February 26th at 8am GMT to May 3rd at 8am GMT.
Building Chinese Acrobatic Theatre now yields 80 and its task is now premium.
Placing Rose Bush now yields 100 and costs 1,000 to harvest but the trigger to activate them in Valentine's 2017 was inactive.

Mr. Sparkle jobs' SkyCredits rewards were doubled.
Rio Days-Inn-Ero SkyCredits reward every 4 hours was doubled from 125 to 250.
Tapping a Tourist earns 4 instead of 2.
Tapping an infected Tourist (before Level 5) earns 10 instead of 5.
Crafting Level 20's target was changed from 26,250 to 27,850.
Daily Challenges SkyCredits Payout was doubled.
The text "Generates SkyCredits" was added to Mr. Sparkle in the store.

The Passport icon was changed from the Rising Sun Flag to the Flag of Japan.
In the Daily Challenge To Err Is Human, "Make Ned Attone for His Sins" was changed to "Make Ned Atone for His Sins".

Globe's text "Mali was home to the world's richest person in history, Mensa Musa. A glitch in the Lost Luggage Mystery Box prizes was fixed.

A dialogue, addressing February 28th server outage, was added to the game with a reward compensating for the problem: "We know you experienced a connectivity issue recently but TSTO is back! As our thanks for staying with us during this technical snafu here's 500 Sky Credits and 2,000 Pins!". It awards 500 and 2,000 upon logging in.
A bug regarding Norbert's Lost Luggage Mystery Box Prizes being given in the wrong order was fixed.

March 7th Update 1 (4.25.5 / 4.25.6;"4_25_AroundTheWorld_Takedown")[edit]

The splash screen and the app icon were changed back to normal.
The ambience music was changed back to normal.
The landing zone was moved back to normal.
The Tourist Bundle was added to the store.
The tourists now have 5 new jobs: Shop at Kwik-E-Mart, Prepare for France, Prepare for Japan, Prepare for Brazil and Stay in Budget Accommodations. Once sent to their animated jobs they dress as the tourists in the 3 acts.
Two new quests were added "Tourists Upsell" and "Permanent Vacation" for the Tourists Bundle, however the text is missing.
Pimento Grove was changed.
Apu's unlock message was changed from ""Thank you, come again!"" to "Thank you, come again!".
Chalmers' unlock message was changed from ""SKINNERRRR!"" to "SKINNERRRR!".
