- "The first few flakes have started to fall on what predictions have labelled "the storm of the century," and the residents of Springfield are starting to prepare for a long winter. The business owners are the most nervous, as the blizzard is threatening to close their stores during their holiday sales, and without that revenue, many aren't sure they'll be able to last through the season. Even the children aren't immune to the worry created by this storm, as Springfield Elementary is remaining steadfastly open. But as the storm intensifies, a mysterious figure has begun buying up every business in Springfield, and no one seems to know who they are. So, once again, it looks like it's up to Bart and Lisa to figure out who this person is, what they're planning to do, and how they can stop them from fulfilling their nefarious plans, which would be much easier if they'd just close the school already. Time is running out as the snow gets deeper, and if they're not careful, they'll find themselves at the mercy of A Christmas Peril."

A Christmas Peril is the two hundred thirty-first content update of The Simpsons: Tapped Out. It started on December 7, 2022 and ended on January 11, 2023. It was the eleventh Christmas-themed update for the game.

Other changes made[edit]
December 6 Update (4.59.0; "v4_59_XMAS2022")[edit]
- The app icon and the splash screen were changed to new ones for the event.
- Winter look was set for the game.
- A new character group, Normal Springfielders, was created, consisting of all characters unlocked through the main questline.
- A new building group, Orphanages, was created, consisting of: Filthy Angels Orphanage, Springfield Orphanage, and Springfield Domestic Orphanage.
- The Normal Springfielders group was added to several quests that could be done by Regular Characters and Premium Characters.
- Lisa, Milhouse, and Tiago were excluded from the characters who could do the job "Learn the Lambda" in Flirty Dancing Pt. 5.
- Stogie's "Work a Night Shift" job was set to take place at Hard Lad Nightclub as well as MoHo House, but it wasn't properly formatted in so is still broken.
- Nibbles and Acorn-Obsessed Squirrel were added to the characters who can "Pretend to Be an Ugly Dog" on the Springfield Pet Fair Stage.
- Stampy's jobs "Spray Water with his Trunk" and "Never Forget" can now be done at a Brown House as well as KBBL Radio.
- Tiny Tim and Charlie were added to the characters that can Moonbounce.
- Antoine and Zora's avatar was changed to just be that of Antoine.
- The event-exclusive job "Blow Up Pool Floaties" from Splash and Burn was fixed so it could actually take place at the Kiddie Pool and Pool.
- The event-exclusive job "Look for the Snack Bar" from The Devil and the Deep Blue Slide Pt. 1 was fixed so it could properly take place at the Peanut Cart.
- The jobs "Disturb Coworkers" and "Review the Company Dress Code" from Swimsuit Homer's quest The Best Laid Tans Pt. 2 were fixed so they could take place at the Reactor Core and Cooling Towers.
- Swimsuit Homer's job "Make Things Awkward at Work" was fixed so it could take place at the Reactor Core and Cooling Towers.
- The jobs from the temporary questline Fortune Favors the Bald were removed.
- The Store note about the Fogburyport Bundle earning event currency was removed.
- The Headless Horseman's job "Reshoe His Horse" was fixed so it could properly take place at The Stable at the Inn.
- Ebenezer Burns and Plow King's Store text was changed to say they earn event currency.
- Plow King Bundle's Store text was changed to say they earn event currency.
- The Ghost of Christmas Past's job "Dwell on the Past" had visibility requirements added so it would only appear if Paramours of Christmas Past Pt. 5 or Regrets, That's All I've Got Pt. 2 were started.
- Christmas Krusty Burger and Snake's House Decorated were added to the Christmas Facades skin group.
