The Tribal Chief is the manager of Caesar's Pow-Wow Casino.

Description

The casino manager is, an one might expect, thoroughly attentive to all aspects of the casino's operation, from laundry to who's losing money on the gambling floor. He even knows Bart's name as soon as Bart is brought into his office, due to Homer's having taking out a second mortgage and listing Bart as collateral.

The manager is also a shaman/mystic, as he presents Bart with a vision of his possible future. He objects to firecrackers being thrown into the fire as a personal item to sacrifice for a vision. It isn't known whether his objection is due to the explosion breaking the mood or because of their possibly being illegal on the reservation and/or in the casino.

In spite of being bothered by firecrackers, the casino manager is still concerned for his brother, Crazy Talk, from whom Bart bought firecrackers on the reservation.

History

After Bart snuck into the casino by hiding in Gabbo's box, he was brought to the manager. He told Bart that he would have a bad life if he carried on his deceitful ways. He even got Bart's name right, because Homer took out a second mortgage downstairs. Bart thought he was some kind of Indian mystic who could see the future, to which the manager coyly replied, "Who says I'm not?" He told Bart to throw a treasured possession into the fire to see his future. Bart threw a firecracker in and it exploded, causing the manager to become angry. Bart told him he bought it from a guy on the reservation and the manager said, "That's crazy talk!" When Bart insisted it was true, the manager clarified what he meant: "That's my brother, Crazy Talk. We're all a little worried about him."

After the vision was over, Bart asked why it included a story about Homer looking for treasure, as well as an advertisement for the casino. The manager said that the vision included Homer's because the main vision was a little thin, and admitted that the ad had been Crazy Talk's doing (but he stole the idea from another tribal member, Dances with Focus Groups). He then gave Bart an expired coupon for a crab claw.[1]

He attended Amber Simpson's funeral.[2]
