Grace Kelly, later Princess Grace of Monaco, was an American movie star renowned for her elegance who left Hollywood in 1956 when she married into the Monacan royalty.

History

In a dream of Lisa's the family visited Marrakesh and when they arrived Homer asked his family why Princess Grace would live in a place like this. Lisa pointed then out that's Monaco, not Morocco.

Behind the Laughter

In much of the plot "Bart of Darkness" is taken from the Alfred Hitchcock directed movie Rear Widow starring Jimmy Stewart and Grace Kelly. In a meta-reference a Jimmy Stewart look-alike starts yelling out for "Grace."
