The singing railroad hobo is an unnamed homeless person who rides a train alone and tells tall tales to the passengers of his compartment.
History[edit]
When the Simpson family were trying to get to Delaware, they jumped on board a Union Pacific train where they thought they found a dead hobo. The hobo then woke up, which scared the family. The hobo told them that he sung and told stories, which he then did for the family. He told them three stories; Paul Bunyan, Connie Appleseed and Tom and Huck. He told the stories in return for sponge baths. Whilst Homer gave him one between telling the stories, he still owed the hobo two more baths so after they got to Delaware, Homer had to give him two more sponge baths.[1]
The singing railroad hobo used the Lisa M. Simpson Foundation and traded in his bindle for a briefcase.[2]
