The Lisa M. Simpson Foundation is a homeless charity founded by Marge and Lisa Simpson.

History[edit]

After seeing how Marge cleaned Homer's clothes using a few ingredients, Lisa convinced Marge to give the ingredients away to homeless people so they could clean up their clothes and try and become more successful. When The Rich Texan saw their stall, he wanted to give a charitable donation as a tax deduction to them. However, since they weren't a registered charity, he wouldn't get the deduction. The Rich Texan then got his accountant to write up the paperwork to make them into a charity.

Marge and Lisa started improving the lives of homeless people including the singing railroad hobo and the Crazy Cat Lady. When Lisa realized that Marge was using Hand & Armor Baking Soda as one of the ingredients, she told Marge that the company that owned it was pro-child labor. Lisa and Homer then went off to find ethically sourced baking soda to use instead. Whilst they were gone, Marge was chased off by The Salvation Army. Bernice Hibbert saw this and gave Marge help in raising awareness for the charity.

Eventually, the Lisa M. Simpson Foundation had an office and many employees working to raise awareness. When Lisa got back from finding ingredients to use, she was shocked to find that the charity had stopped making the bags of ingredients to give out and was solely working on raising awareness. Marge also revealed that Mr. Burns had donated money to create the Lisa M. Simpson Foundation Center, which annoyed Lisa as Burns was the biggest polluter in town. Lisa was then removed from the organization by the board of directors, leading to Marge and Lisa falling out with each other.

On the way to the Lisa M. Simpson Foundation Center, Marge realized that Lisa was right and the charity had been "bluewashing" products rather than doing any good. She then found out from Gil that the charity's new headquarters had been built on top of affordable housing and Gil had become homeless again because of the center being built. Marge then went into the center and handed over the entire charity to Lisa, who opened up the headquarters as a new homeless shelter.
