Character Information
|
Harry S. Truman was the 33rd President of the United States, serving from 1945 to 1953. He was elected Vice President and succeeded to the presidency in 1945 when Franklin D. Roosevelt died three months into his fourth term.
History[edit]
In 1945, President Harry Truman printed a one trillion-dollar bill to help reconstruct post-war Europe. He handed the vital cargo over to Montgomery Burns to transport to the Europeans. However, the money never arrived, explaining why Europeans are snotty to Americans.[1]
Later, Lisa and Homer watched a historical documentary and made a bet on who would win the 1948 U.S. Presidential election. Homer made the mistake of believing the polls that predicted victory for Governor Dewey, so Lisa won the bet and got to choose their activity for Daddy-Daughter Day. She chose taking part in building homes for Habitat for Humanity alongside former U.S. Presidents Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, and George H. W. Bush.[2]
An animatronic of Harry S. Truman was seen in the Hall of Vice Presidents at Kissimmee St. Nick Theme Park and Resort.[3]
He is one of the many people on "Ned's List of Laudable Lefties".[4]
