On August 30, [[2017]], Alf Clausen told Variety that he had been fired from the show as they wanted "a different kind of music".<ref>[http://variety.com/2017/tv/news/simpsons-composer-alf-clausen-fired-1202543183/ Variety - "'The Simpsons' Composer Alf Clausen Fired After 27 Years (EXCLUSIVE)"]</ref> Clausen's last official episode as main composer was "[[Whistler's Father]]", although he also composed music for the song "[[Nobody Knows Hans Moleman]]" in the episode "[[Grampy Can Ya Hear Me]]". However, he is still credited as "composer emeritus", an honorary credit.
