Daft Monk is the Halloween costume that a killer used to get revenge on everyone who left him for dead.
History[edit]
On Halloween, Daft Monk went to a party at the Fudd Brewery. After the party, Daft Monk walked around Springfield while drunk, where he was hit by a flaming shopping cart pushed down the hill by Bart, Jimbo, Dolph, Kearney, and Nelson. They fled the scene, thinking they had killed him. However, Daft Monk stood up again, only to be hit by a party bus driven by Otto and Duffman. They and the other passengers threw Daft Monk into a dumpster, thinking they had killed him. Daft Monk climbed out of the dumpster and carried on walking, although he was in much worse shape at this point. Chief Wiggum, who was arresting Snake, saw Daft Monk and thought he was a zombie, so he shot him. Snake and the cops hid Daft Monk's body under leaves and garbage before they fled the scene. However, Daft Monk was still alive. He soon got hit by the Glayv-mo, driven by Homer, Professor Frink, Gary Chalmers, and Dewey Largo. Thinking that they had killed him, they threw him off a bridge and into the water. Daft Monk soon floated by the Ship Happens, which was having a party. He got caught under the boat, and the guests onboard thought they had killed him. They sailed back to the shore, leaving Daft Monk in the water.
However, Daft Monk had survived all of this and washed up on The Island of Forgotten Garbage, where Dr. Nick found him. Dr. Nick patched Daft Monk up, and Daft Monk made a boat and sailed back to Springfield, a journey that only took him thirty minutes. After seeing that nobody was missing him or even acknowledging his existence, Daft Monk decided to get revenge on everyone who thought they had killed him that Halloween. He went around killing everybody while still in costume.
The next Halloween, Daft Monk confronted everybody at the Springfield Town Hall. When the people questioned who he was, Daft Monk removed his helmet and revealed himself to be Apu Nahasapeemapetilon. Apu was angry at being left for dead and forgotten, which was why he went on his murder spree. Apu planned to burn down the Town Hall with everyone inside it. However, Homer felt guilty about everything and asked Apu to spare everyone else and only kill him. Apu was surprised at Homer's selflessness and handed the lighter over to Homer. However, the lighter was hot, so Homer dropped it, starting the fire. Apu then woke up in the Kwik-E-Mart, revealing that it had all been a dream.
Behind the Laughter[edit]
Daft Monk is a reference to electronica duo Daft Punk. His motives and revenge are a reference to Apu being dropped from the show for nine years following The Problem with Apu.
