Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, better known as Mahatma Gandhi or Gandhi, was a prominent figure in India's history, and helped lead the country to its independence.

History

When Homer and Mr. Burns were trapped in a mountain cabin after an avalanche, the two began going crazy. Mr. Burns started thinking that Homer wanted to kill him and ride his corpse down the mountain to safety. Mr. Burns decided to kill Homer first, but as he was about to attack he hallucinated and saw a number of figures standing around Homer, one of which was Gandhi.[1]

When Lisa was babysitting Bart and Maggie, she asked Bart why he had to make her job so difficult. Bart answered that he was simply using non-violent resistance. Lisa was disgusted by the idea that Bart would compare himself to Mahatma Gandhi. Bart then asked who Mahatma Gandhi was.[2]

When Marge was challenged to a fight by Chett Englebrick, she told her family that "If Gandhi could go without eating for a whole three-hour movie, I can do this".[3]

Kent Brockman mentioned that Martin Luther King, Jr., Gandhi, and Desmond Tutu all have won the Nobel Peace Prize.[4]

He was seen as a hologram at the Simpson family's home and danced and sung a song.[5]

He is also one of the many people on "Ned's List of Laudable Lefties".[6]

Sam Monroe has a picture in her room.[7]

One of the buildings in the Limitless Frontier Horizons is the "Mahatma Gandhi classroom".[8]
