Occupation: German statesman
First appearance: "Bart the General"

Otto von Bismarck was a German statesman.

History[edit]

When Herman Hermann helped Bart deal with Nelson he used a declaration of war from the Franco-Prussian War and just changed Otto von Bismarck to Bart Simpson.[1]

When the Simpson family watched a quiz show on TV the host asked what German ruler is the capital of North Dakota named after. Homer answered Hitler, but Patty and Selma correctly said Bismarck. The contestant on the quiz show also answered right. Both Marge and Bart were surprised at Homer's answer.[2]

Marge's Aunt Gladys's video will bequeathed her a collection of potato chips that resembled celebrities including one of Otto von Bismarck which Homer ate while watching the will video.[3]

He is one of the many people on "Ned's List of Laudable Lefties".[4]
