Bismarck is the capital city of North Dakota. Otto von Bismarck is its namesake.

History

While the Simpsons watched Grade School Challenge together, the question was: the capital of North Dakota was named after what German ruler. Patty and Selma correctly answered Bismarck after Homer exclaimed, "Hitler!"

Homer correctly named the capital to his family after the crayon was removed from his brain, which made him smarter.

While in The Prodigy Barn toy store, Bart played a video game that involved blasting the capital cities of every state. He was having fun until he realized that it was an educational game and threw the controller at the TV screen, exclaiming, "That'll teach you to teach me!"
