TV Show Information
Genre: Game Show
First appearance: "Simpson and Delilah"

Grade School Challenge is a game show which the Simpson family watched on TV.

History[edit]

In the portion of the show that was shown (two questions), Homer, Bart, Patty and Selma were playing along with the contestants as they watched. Patty and Selma easily answered both questions correctly. Bart did not respond to the first question (possibly because he was distracted by Homer's wrong answer), and got the second question wrong.

Homer got the first question completely wrong (drawing quizzical stares from Marge and Bart), but angrily said he was still beating Bart. For the second question, he made several guesses (among them the correct answer), but didn't decide on a response until after he heard Patty's and Selma's answer.

After the two questions, the show cut to the Dimoxinil commercial.

Questions and Answers[edit]

1. "The capital of North Dakota is named after what German ruler?"

  • Homer quickly, but incorrectly, answered "Hitler".
  • Patty and Selma correctly answered "Bismarck".

2. "The colors of the Italian flag are red, white and what?"

  • Bart incorrectly answered "Blue".
  • Patty and Selma correctly answered "Green".
  • Homer guessed yellow, green and black, but didn't decide on green until after Patty and Selma answered.

Behind the Laughter[edit]

Grade School Challenge is most likely a parody of Quiz Kids, which originally aired on radio and TV in the 1940s and 1950s.
