Quimby, Sr. had ran illegal liquor business, which prohibition caused to thrive in 1920. He then "expanded his bathtub gin operation to include sink vodka, toilet scotch, and bidet bourbon".[1] Joe Quimby was his first legitimate child. Joe Sr. also has children with Agnes Moorehead and, later, with all of his son's nannies. In 1961 Joe Quimby, Sr. mysteriously disappeared. His body was found a decade later, marooned in a sand trap on the back nine.[2]
