The King of Sweden was the king of Sweden because he had no heirs became the country lawless after he died with the rebellion as a result.

During a flashback of J. Loren Pryor assessing a three-year-old Lisa as gifted Homer invasions the King of Sweden awarding an adult Lisa the Nobel Prize for Kickboxing and then Lisa knocks out the King of Sweden with a front kick to his chest.[1]

After Waylon Smithers, Jr. made a visit to Little Stockholm, a woman contacted the Swedish embassy after she saw similarities between them and he might be his illegitimate son. After Smithers found out that he might become the future king of Sweden, he began to enter the role in Springfield, which not everyone appreciated. Before he could be crowned acknowledged Smithers according to DNA test, he is not the kings son and could not become their new King.
