Senator Paine is an antagonist in Mr. Smith Goes to Washington remake starring Mel Gibson.

History

In the new ending of the film produced by Mel Gibson and Homer Simpson, Jefferson Smith throws an American flag on a flagpole through Senator Paine's chest, killing him.
