Scoey is a character in a McBain movie.

History

Scoey was a veteran cop who was two days from retirement, and his daughter Suzie was about to graduate from college. Following his retirement, he and his wife planned to sail the world in a boat called the "The Live-4-Ever".

However, during an evening at a Sloppy Joe's diner, a hitman, hired by Mendoza, posed as a waiter and attempted to gun down McBain. The hitman missed and Scoey took the bullets. McBain attempted to stop the assassin by shooting at him, but the assassin managed to get away by crashing though a window on a motorcycle. As Scoey died in his arms, McBain became more determined than ever to put an end to Mendoza's reign of terror.

Behind the Laughter

The character is a parody of Sergeant Murtaugh (played by Danny Glover) in the Lethal Weapon film series.
