Sun Tzu was a Chinese military general, strategist and philosopher. He wrote the book The Art of War.
History[edit]
When the Simpsons visited The Old Springfield Book Nook, Bart was sold a copy of The Art of War by the shopkeeper. Bart then imagined Sun Tzu talking to him, telling him that if Bart used the book, his father would lie shattered before the gates of Bart's palace. At school the next day, Nelson went to bully Bart. Bart the imagined Sun Tzu talking to him again, telling Bart to irritate Nelson. This got Nelson to back off Bart. Bart then decided to use the book to get to Tunnelcraft-Con.
Later, after Milhouse told Homer that Bart was using The Art of War against him, Homer decided to read the book too. Sun Tzu then told Homer that all warfare is deception. Homer told him to shut up and threw the book away.[1]
After Lisa's team won a ring hockey game 30-0 the other team asked why she was so good. She told them that she studied Sun Tzu's 'The Art of War and applied his strategies to the game.[2]
