Marie Curie was a Polish French physicist and chemist famous for her pioneering research on radioactivity.

History[edit]

When Marge started to work at the power plant, Lisa said that the family would be just like Marie and Pierre Curie. Lisa explained that they discovered radium and they both died of radiation poisoning. Bart then imagined what happened, picturing them as giants and using radium-eyes to destroy a Japanese city.[1]

Pictures of Srinivasa Ramanujan, Marie Curie, and Isaac Newton were seen at the League of Extraordinary Geniuses.[2]

Lori Spivak had a picture of Marie Curie in her house.[3]

In Lisa's Dream House she wanted a famous women statue gallery, which included Cleopatra, Madame Curie, Gertrude Stein, Eleanor Roosevelt, Amelia Earhart, Myrna Loy, Ella Fitzgerald and Anita Hill, among others.[4]

When Lisa was going to Springfield Nuclear Power Plant on "take your daughter to work day" she told Homer at she is so excited, this must be what Nobel Prize-winning Marie Curie felt like at she sought to unravel the atom, minus the radiation sickness.[5]
