France was one of the locations in the eating contest, Around the World in 80 Bites. In the Medal of Homer video game, Homer and Bart helped secure the French village of Ville de St. Capitulons.[6]
Treehouse of Horror[edit]
Mayor Quimby insulted France while telling a "frog's leg joke." France demanded that Mayor Quimby apologize or suffer the consequences. Quimby unwisely refused to apologize and told them to "do their worst." In retaliation, France launched a nuclear attack on Springfield, killing almost everyone except the Simpsons while mutating several other surviving citizens.[7]
When the Homer infection spread worldwide, the Homers changed Paris' name to "Margaritaville".[8]
