Estes Kefauver was an American politician who served as Senator from Tennessee from 1949 until his death in 1963. He's best-remembered for heading a much-publicized investigation into organized crime in the early 1950s.

History

After his family failed to show up for an important event, Grampa told them that he felt "as lonely as Estes Kefauver at a meeting of Murder, Inc.". When they all gave him blank stares he retorted "that actually makes sense! Look it up!"
