When Reverend Lovejoy asked Lisa for book suggestions for his bookmobile, unknowingly a book-burning mobile, she suggested to him anything by Jane Austen.[1]
The learned pervert read the book Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen for the "Mile-High Book Club" that he, Professor Pocket Pool, and Miss Hoover were part of.[2]
In an interview with Lisa, she said her favorite prose writers were Jane Austen, Willa Cather, and the anonymous, ink-stained tortured wretch who wrote the Happy Little Elevers Teeny Tiny Library of Itty Bitty Books series.[3]
