Captain Squid was with the Superior Squad when they beat Hypno Head. Afterwards, he helped with the cleanup. Captain Squid had feelings for Lure Lass but thought she would be repulsed by his freakish, squid-like tentacles under his gloves. However, Lure Lass also had feelings for him.[1]
When Sheldon Phillips was trying to take photographs by the waterfront, his shots were disrupted by Captain Squid fighting against the Frankenstein Monster, who had somehow learned to swim.[2]
Captain Squid attended the wedding of Larva Girl and Radioactive Man. When fighting broke out, he defeated The Human Lawn Dart.[3]
Captain Squid went with the rest of the Superior Squad to Crystal Belle's Crystal Balls to meet Plasmo.[4] However, this was a trap led by Madame Eczema, and Eczema captured the Superior Squad.[5] When Radioactive Man freed the Superior Squad, Captain Squid was freed as well.[6]
Captain Squid was one of the Superior Squad members who couldn't help stop Shootin' Irons as he was being held captive by The Scarlet Floozy.[7]
Captain Squid, along with the rest of the Superior Squad, got captured by Dr. Crab in his asteroid base. Captain Squid helped to free them by using his extending tentacles to get into Radioactive Man's stasis chamber and remove the device blocking his powers. As the Superior Squad fought over who will lead the team after Radioactive Man's death, Dr. Crab's Crab-Bots attacked the Mando Building. Captain Squid fought back against them using his deep-sea-spawned powers. After Radioactive Man returned from the dead, now evil, Captain Squid and the rest of the Superior Squad fought back against him but were defeated. Fallout Boy then managed to get the lightning bolt back into Radioactive Man's head, turning him good again.[8]
Captain Squid ended up staying behind with Lure Lass as the other superheroes went to stop the energy field above Zenith City. When the heroes got back, Captain Squid was playing cards with Bug Boy, Lure Lass and Heart of Darkness.[9]
