Desiree Del Monica is a beauty pageant contestant from the 21st century.

History

In 2001, Desiree entered a beauty pageant but was denied because she's too zaftig (plump and round figured). Annoyed at Kate Stone, the judge who denied her entry, she dated a scientist who invented a time machine and went back in time to 1953, bringing some 2001 technology with her. Here, she tricked the other contestants into slimming down, altering photographs of them to make them look heavier and giving them subliminal messages to make them want to slim down. So, all the other contestants began to starve themselves.

Eventually, Gloria Grand gets a tip from Kate Stone about this and finds the truth about Desiree. Several male fans of Desiree barge into her hotel room and find the truth and expose it to the whole town. Desiree surrendered her crown and Radioactive Man took her back to 2001 to hand over to the authorities.
