William Henry Harrison was the 9th President of the United States, serving in 1841.
History
Harrison was one of the Presidents mentioned in the song "We Are the Mediocre Presidents", which was performed by a group of Springfield Elementary School students during the school's Presidents' Day Pageant. When Harrison was mentioned, the student portraying him said, "I died in thirty days!"[1]
A picture of Harrison was seen in a book that Superintendent Chalmers showed Bart, before Bart developed an interest in Theodore Roosevelt. In an illustration showing all of the Presidents of the United States, Bart was only able to identify a few of the Presidents, and Harrison was not among them.[2]
Behind the Laughter
In real life, Harrison died thirty-two days after taking office, the shortest Presidential term in American history. Three weeks after his inauguration, he contracted a cold which worsened into pneumonia. Nine days after becoming ill, Harrison died of the resulting complications.
