Character Information
|
Katie Couric is an American journalist. Bart and Homer found her inside the pit trap they dug in their attempt to catch the Leprechaun.
History
When Homer and Bart checked their pit trap the morning after digging and baiting it, they found several forest creatures inside it. Bart pulled them out one by one, naming it before tossing it aside: "Nymph, fairy, pixie, goblin-" (the Hobgoblin corrected his misidentification) "-nymph, naiad, wood sprite, Katie Couric." When Bart pulled Couric out of the trap, she smiled at him and he tossed her aside as he had done with the other creatures. Right after that, Bart found the Leprechaun.[1]
Behind the Laughter
- Katie Couric (born January 7, 1957) is an American journalist who has worked for both NBC and CBS.
- Couric's being found in the trap along with such diminutive forest creatures as a nymph, a fairy, a pixie, a naiad, a wood sprite and the Leprecahun may be a joke on her height, as in real life she is 5 feet, 2½ inches (1.59m) tall. She has also been described as "pixieish".
