Krusty the Clown called Groundskeeper Willie's dog "Bella Abzug" in the Ugly Dog Contest.[2]

Behind the Laughter

In real life, Bella Abzug (1920-1998) served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1971 to 1977, representing the state of New York. After her time in Congress, she remained a high-profile figure in women's advocacy issues.
