Character Information
|
Frida Kahlo was a Mexican painter.
History[edit]
Frida Kahlo got married to Diego Rivera at Casa Azul in Mexico City, Mexico. After they got married, the couple moved to New York City where Diego took on an art project for John D. Rockefeller Jr. at the Rockefeller Center. Frida was annoyed at her husband as she hated capitalism and thought that Diego was selling out. Frida then started painting her feelings, which concerned Diego as he could tell they were all negative. After seeing her work, Diego told Frida that he underestimated her and she was a genius. Diego then went on to say that he would show his awe to her by sleeping with other women, starting an hour ago. Frida then responded that she would also sleep with other women, starting two hours ago. Diego then told Frida that he would do what she wants for the first time in their marriage.
John Rockefeller then revealed the painting at the Rockefeller Center and was horrified to find there was a picture of Vladimir Lenin in the painting. When Diego refused to paint over it, Rockefeller tried to release the hounds on Diego and Frida. Diego and Frida then leave the building together.[1]
In Lisa's Dream House, she wanted a famous artist gallery, which included Grandma Moses, Frida Kahlo, Georgia O'Keeffe, Dorothea Lange, Mary Cassatt, and Diane Arbus, among others.[2]
Lisa was dressed as Frida Kahlo for Halloween.[3]
Martin was seen looking at a picture of Kahlo on his computer screen when he and several other students were online working on research projects on South America.[4]
Lisa was reading a book about Frida Kahlo.[5]
One of the items in Mr. Burns' office is a portrait of himself which he describes as "painted by Diego Rivera's great-nephew with a brush made of hair from Frida Kahlo's eyebrows".[6]
