Robert Redford is an American actor.

History[edit]

Marge was fantasizing about the man on the Burly Paper Towels logo, so Homer looked around the kitchen when the image of Paul Newman on the label of Newman's Own Salad Dressing told him, "Homer, I'll tell you what I told Redford. It ain't gonna happen." Newman and Redford were co-stars in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and The Sting.[1]

"Robert Redford, the Sundance Institute." was the return address on the envelope with Lisa's acceptance of her documentary Capturing the Simpsons into the Sundance Film Festival. The Sundance Institute was founded by Robert Redford and sponsored the festival. When Homer saw it while sorting and destroying the mail, he said, "Robert Redford? Guess what. A scissor runs through it," making a pun on the Robert Redford-directed movie A River Runs Through It.[2]

He was one of the many people on "Ned's List of Laudable Lefties."[3]
